Company Profile
Theatrix Costume House has been a cornerstone of Toronto’s theatre and performance community since its founding in 1965. Originally established as “Catherwoods” by Warren Huges in the city’s vibrant Yonge Street district, the company quickly became a trusted source for high-quality costumes and creative wardrobe solutions. Over the decades, Theatrix expanded its reach, serving productions across Toronto’s theatre district and beyond, and eventually growing to offer costume rentals on an international scale.
Acquired by the DeVita family in the 1990s and later purchased by Gina Anki in 2010, Theatrix continues to thrive from its headquarters on Geary Avenue. With a vast inventory and a reputation for excellence, the company provides costumes for theatre, film, television, and special events, helping bring characters and stories to life.
From its early beginnings in Toronto’s cultural hub to becoming a globally recognized costume supplier, Theatrix Costume House remains dedicated to artistry, authenticity, and supporting performers of every kind.
