Company Profile
For more than 50 years, Jackson Square has been at the heart of Hamilton’s downtown core as both a shopping destination and a community gathering place. Opened in 1972 as part of a major urban renewal project and named after former mayor Lloyd D. Jackson, the centre has remained a cornerstone of the city’s commercial and cultural life.
As Hamilton’s only indoor shopping mall downtown, Jackson Square offers retail stores, independent shops, office spaces, and entertainment venues under one roof. Over the decades, multiple renovations and expansions have kept the centre vibrant and responsive to the needs of the community.
Today, Jackson Square is more than just a mall—it is part of Hamilton’s revitalization. Surrounded by the James Street North arts district, new residential developments, and a growing entertainment hub, it continues to connect people, businesses, and culture in the city’s core.
